Trip Itinerary

DAY 1 - Saturday: PORTOROSA - LIPARI
We meet you in the base marina around noon, and start our journey to the romantic Aeolian Islands to experience the special atmosphere of the volcanic archipelago. We spend our first night in Lipari town, a vibrant port with a pretty, pastel-coloured seafront and excellent places to taste the Canolli, a local pastry.
DAY 2 - Sunday: LIPARI - PANAREA
On the way, we take a break for a nice swim in the dreamy blue waters of Havana Beach. Today’s destination, Panarea is the smallest and most fashionable of the Aeolians, with its car-free, picture-perfect streets offering coffee time on a sunny whitewashed terrace for a taste of ‘dolce far niente’.
DAY 3 - Monday: PANAREA - STROMBOLI
Outdoor people, it’s gonna be your favorite day! We embark on an exciting trip to the Stromboli, for the adventorous to spend the afternoon hiking and watching the volcano erupt, or for a more relaxed time, just observing the crater’s fireworks from the boat. Both ways, it’s a not-to-be-missed experience.
DAY 4 - Tuesday: STROMBOLI - SALINA
Gourmet friends, here we go sailing to the twin-peaked Salina, the greenest of these islands. We hop on a scooter to discover it’s lush landscape and enjoy a cheerful wine tasting, featuring the local Malvasia. Watching the sunset will be the perfect finish of this day.
DAY 5 - Wednesday: SALINA - FILICUDI
We set sails to the pretty and remote Filicudi Island, to have an off-the-beaten track adventure, hiking the one of many trails, or just walking around, having a peaceful sunbathing, and swimming in the crystal-clear sea.
DAY 6 - Thursday: FILICUDI - VULCANO
After a few hours of sailing, we spend the afternoon relaxing on the spectacular black-sand beaches of Vulcano. Prepare for an easy morning hike to see the volcano in action and wallow in the warm mud baths, if you don’t mind smelling funny for a few days.
DAY 7 - Friday: VULCANO - PORTOROSA
Heading back to Portorosa in the afternoon, to have an authentic Italian pizza dinner, celebrating our unforgettable adventures, before we spend our last night on the boat, in the marina.
DAY 8 - Saturday: PORTOROSA
An eventful week passed by and we hope you have your batteries fully charged to return to your everyday life. It’s time to say goodbye for now, as we have an early morning check out by latest 9AM.

Good to know

The base marina is located in the seaside resort of Portorosa. Catania Airport is 150 km far (about 2 hours) from Portorosa, and Palermo Airport is 210 km far (3 hours) from the marina.

Taxi transfers can be arranged from Catania/Palermo Airport to the base, however, we found the car rental a much affordable and flexible option.

The Aeolian Islands have a Mediterranean climate.
The weather in September is quite dry, and the average temperature is min. 21°C, max. 27°C.
The sea temperature of around 24 °C is warm enough for swimming, so if you enjoy looking at a blue sky and like sunbathing, than this month is a great period to visit Lipari.
